World Creation: Lands of the Seven
One Thursday in early December 2008 our primary host and his wife needed to cancel, as did one of the other players, so we went to the backup location and did a simple world building exercise using the Dawn of Worlds rules with the following modifications with 4 people (though, this host's wife left the game somewhere in the first age:
In a little over 3 hours we managed to advance the world through all three ages and had a lot of fun doing so.
In retrospect, I should have brought my camera (7 mega pixels) as the photos of the battle map were a bit low res. I should have also brought my digital recorder as the record keeper did not entirely capture the actions of the turn.

- We used a battle Map instead of a sheet of graph paper.
- We started with a blank map instead of a set of pre-drawn continents.
- The Good/Evil became a spectrum, without limit, instead of a simple good, neutral, evil scale.
- When advancing a City or Civilization we chose to allow it to be open ended.
- Each Age was exactly 5 rounds long.
- We, inadvertently use a modification on the spend bonus rule, such that any one at or below 5 points at the end of the turn, received a bonus point instead of the escalating bonus.
- Linguistic changing of names was done for free.

Introduction to Tales of the Table
Greetings,
I have created this blog as a place for my self to Journal the Pen and Paper Role-playing games that I participate in and/or Run. The idea is to exercise the less technical side of my brain and write in a more free form manner than my other blog: Npc-a-Day .
Currenly I participate in the following games:
3.5 D&D Greyhawk D&D classics as a player: Bob Arby is the Character's Name
Gurps 3 rendition of Mass Effect as a player: I play Kaidan Alenko.
D&D 4 Edition as the DM: This game has not started yet, though we are currenly conducting a world building exercise using the Dawn of Worlds rules with slight modifications.
I also will use this blog as an occasional test form for posts for my other Gaming Blog: Npc-a-Day which I may or may not delete prior to moving them to Npc-a-Day.
I currently have no plans to advertise this blog beyond my group, though you never know.
Given that I game only on Thursdays with a group made up of largely older (mostly 30's+) working professionals, the updates will be scattered and occasional due to skipping and canceled Sessions.
Hopefully what I write is worth your time.
Thanks,
Snorkey
